Meetup is the ultimate Social Network
Thursday, February 21st, 2008Chris Brogan recently had a post on Social Networks and the need to “Tend the Farm” by reaching out and actually reach out and say hi. The meteoric rise and success of Meetups solves this problem. You can have a profile, join for free groups that have common interests and actually meet the people. I run a marketing Meetup, Orange County Advertising and Marketing Associates. We get together once a month and network, talk and usually have a few drinks together. I have developed friends and business contacts from this group. I also have received a lot of business from it. I also organize a equestrian group, Orange County Horse Adventurers, and a search marketing group.
