Microsoft’s new search engine Bing adds Instant Answers, known as one of the great things about Live Search through which users can get instant answers on shopping, travel and sports. Now, translation is an instant answer on Bing. The search engine has come up with the translation Instant Answers.

If a user wants to get a word or a phrase translated to another language, he/she just needs to type in the word or phrase on the page followed by the language. For example, if you type “have a nice day” and want to get it translated into Portuguese, Bing would returned like the below:

If you want the word or phrase to be translated into English, include accent marks, else you would not get the translated result. Bing’s translation feature seems pretty good for users’ basic Instant Answers!

Recently Microsoft has rolled out two new methods in order to ensure a safe image and video searching experience when using Bing.

The first step taken by Microsoft is that all adult related images and videos will now come from a separate single domain, explicit.bing.net. If the content is served from a different domain, it will allow schools and homes in setting up their own safe filters to block specific images and videos from that domain.

As far as second method is concerned, Microsoft will serve this kind of data in the referrer information, so that people who are already using this method of filtering content can find the filtered information and better filter based on the source information.
