Search Engine Journal reports about a new SEO tool, through a post. The name of the tool is LinkVooDoo, which helps in link buying or link exchange campaigns.

Backlink checker and website evaluator, LinkVooDoo is a free tool. It has the ability to measure the quality of a website, and at the same time it tells the users how valuable is the link from a particular website.

The first focus area is “link diagnostics”. Let’s see how it works:

First enter the full URL and click “Get Report.”

Choose the report type (It depends on you whether you want to go for Quick or Full one).

In the pop-up choose “Open with” + “Java(TM) Web Start Launcher.”

Wait till the site gets crawled.

After complete crawling of the site, users can see the link report for the URL submitted. Let’s have a look at the following “Backlink PageRank” distribution graph:

Finally, the trust score will give you better insight of what your site has achieved so far and where it could do better. The score is calculated based on the following features:

1. Alexa rank of the site

2. Backlinks and outgoing links

3. Domain age

4. Social bookmarking, and more!

Jon Henshaw of Raven SEO Tools has come up with a number of tips to help you create dofollow links on social bookmarking mega platform Delicious.com.

Here are the tips:

<liTry to be the first person to bookmark the link. That way you’ll be able to control the anchor text that’s used in the link.

After you bookmark the link, have at least one other Delicious user bookmark it. Have that account use similar tags, but don’t completely copy each other. Also, it’s probably wise to mix up accounts that bookmark the same links, and you may want to consider having the other account use a proxy server or different IP.

Although step two is all you need to do, it may be helpful to actually build a few links to the “Everyone’s Bookmarks for” page, just to make sure it gets spidered, referenced and rated by search engines.

“After doing some investigation, it appears that Delicious intentionally removed the nofollow attribute from the “Everyone’s Bookmarks for” page. If a unique link has been bookmarked by more than one person, this page becomes accessible via a link on every account that bookmarked it. The link then has two dofollow links on it, one of which uses actual anchor text instead of the URL.”

Matt Cutts had a recent three-part post that has been subject of much controversy. At the center of this controversy lies Matt Cutt’s appeal to report webmsters involved in buying links as spammers.

The series of posts began with this,(http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/hidden-links/ ) in which he equated paid links to hidden links, both seen as unethical acts to boost page rank. In this second post(http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/by-the-way-2/ ), he targeted sponsored themes which became acts suspicious motive too. In the last post (http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/how-to-report-paid-links/ ), he asked webmasters to report paid links in the authenticated spam report form at Google’s webmaster console. Information regarding the following were to be provided in the report:

Something like “Example.com is selling links; here’s a page on example.com that demonstrates that” or “www.shadyseo.com is buying links. You can see the paid links on www.example.com/path/page.html” is all you need to mention.

If this is not enough of a hint that Google has started seeing paidlinks as spam, then nothing is. Or, did Matt Cutts get all of it wrong and sent out the wrong message to the webmasters? That is unlikely as it is obvious that the three consecutive posts were planned as a naive mind game.Â

There has been a deluge of negative comments to his posts.

What is Google going to actually do to people who buy & sell links and forget to use nofollow? Penalties? Devaluing of all their links? Discounting of only the paid links?
I think we need to know where this is heading before people start firing off reports on who just paid $10 for a blogroll link.
Â

In another comment, Andy Beal said that:

What’s next? Asking us to share our Google Analytics data so you can weed out the pages that users don’t find interesting?
With all due respect, this is going too far!
One of the many concerns is this is too open to exploitation by jealous competitors. Anyone can buy links for a competitor and then report him. There are also many paid directories, such as Yahoo! directory which can be seen as violations of the code.Â

Matt Cutts has clarified that “there’s absolutely no problem with selling links for traffic (as opposed to PageRank).” While this sounds to be theoretically very simple, how would you classify links from Text Link Ads, EnGadget and Google’s very own AdWords program?
