Keyword Mining-The Darker Side of SEO!

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Noel of Search Engine Herald has put up a post about a topic, that is sort of a taboo in the world of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This topic is called ‘Keyword Mining’. Now, every website has it very own web statistics, that enable the Webmasters to understand operational critical factors about their websites such as, the number of visitors, visiting frequency and other details as well.

All Webmasters have an option of keeping their web statistics private and thus inaccessible to the public in general. However, most of the Webmasters do not bother to use the privacy option and in many cases, some of the Webmasters have been absolutely ignorant about the existence of such an option in their analytical tools. At present, Google is the King of Search and practically indexes every page on the Internet. Many a times, with the pages that are being indexed, these website statistics also get indexed by Google and are displayed in the search results for the whole world to see.

Holistic Approach to Natural SEO for Synergy

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

A natural search optimized website will be more trustworthy to a user than a PPC (pay-per-click) advertisement, thus increasing the ROI (return-on-investment) on the website. Although, optimizing the web pages to a natural SEO takes significant amount of time, still, the ROI and the rewards reaped through this process are extremely satisfactory. It is like paid advertising vs. public relations. The best part is about 70% of the traffic from the search results is free, Google gives these valuable clicks away at no charge.

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007
Creating a Yahoo! sitemap is simple. All you need is a Yahoo! i.d., even if you do not use Yahoo mail or any of its other multitude of services, create one now for the sole purpose of submitting your URL to yahoo sitemap. First, begin with creating a file called "urllist.txt" which includes an orderly list of all your URLs. Do keep a check on the size of your folder incase it gets too big use gzip to zip your file. Finally your initial file will now be known as urllist.xml.gz. Yahoo! accepts groups of web feed formats such as RSS 0.9, RSS 1.0 or RSS 2.0 and Atom 0.3.

There is a new online tool, HTTP Headers Viewer which is used at xml-sitemaps.com. Along with Search Engine Bot Simulator and XML Sitemap Validator, HTTP Headers viewer too is gaining popularity. Unlike Google sitemaps which uses an xml format Yahoo! sitemap is composed in text format.

After completing with the creation of your Yahoo! sitemap, click here. After you sign in, submit your URL to "Enter the URL for your feed". After which click on the "Submit Feed" button. And its
done.

Adding a sitemap for your website is the best thing any webmaster can do. It may not guarantee top rankings but you can be assured all your hard work you put into creating your website does not go waste. There is no point if major search engines do not index your website. You can’t rankfro what the search engines can’t find. Mostly, it is for free.
