It has been almost a week and a half since Yahoo! had announced its intentions to test Google advertisements in Yahoo! SERPs (Search engine Result Page). Now according to Wall Street Journal the tests have been declared successful and a possible Yahoo! Google partnership talks have begun.
This partnership would definitely let Yahoo! breathe a sigh of relief as it will now be able to face off against Microsoft’s $42 billion bid for a takeover. Both these Online Search giants will try to draft this potential alliance in such a way that they would enable them to avoid any legal implications. However, according to some experts, this deal under no circumstances would undermine Microsoft’s dominance if it decides to march towards a takeover. In such a scenario, Yahoo! will simply pull out of the Google partnership and merge with Microsoft.

An online video marketing message delivers the message quicker and has more impact on the audience than an advertisement seen in a newspaper or a magazine. It is able to put forward a company’s profile, products and services very effectively. Although, the television media is still prevalent in almost every geographical location, still the ever evolving online industry has opened many avenues for marketers and advertisers to reach out to the masses. The Online world has always been a platform for socialization, communication and other similar activities. According top Matt Cutts, Google is bringing the past to life. In January 2004, Google had introduced the WHOIS query, which displayed a domain’s date of creation and expiration, without mentioning name of the domain owner. WHOIS was coined as the shortest Google service ever. It appeared on the Google Search page on 7th January 2004 and disappeared on 9th January 2004.
However, Google has reintroduced this feature as ‘WHOIS OneBox‘. As of now Google has indicated that the domain data is being taken from the Domain Tools website with a direct link to the OneBox result title. However, many observers report that the WHOIS data doesn’t seem to be in real-time as predicted by Google. Therefore, it is speculated that Google might be caching the data to some other location.

A natural search optimized website will be more trustworthy to a user than a PPC (pay-per-click) advertisement, thus increasing the ROI (return-on-investment) on the website. Although, optimizing the web pages to a natural SEO takes significant amount of time, still, the ROI and the rewards reaped through this process are extremely satisfactory. It is like paid advertising vs. public relations. The best part is about 70% of the traffic from the search results is free, Google gives these valuable clicks away at no charge.
There are a couple of factors that work in tandem to make a website more presentable to the visitor and helps boost the page rankings in major SERP:

Podcasting is a fairly new term which was coined in 2004. Fusing two words: iPod and broadcasting together we have what we call podcasting. What is being listened to has been around since the mid nineties in various forms but not as convenient as it is now due to the ability to subscribe and automatically download them. However, it doesn’t mean that you can listen to a podcast only on an ipod, instead you can listen to podcasts on any other portable player including a desktop computer. Today podcasting is becoming an ever increasing rage both among everyday users and business.
Audio-blogging, audio magazines and web-casting are some other terms that have been used to describe podcasting. Those who create podcasts are called podcasters and podcatchers are the people who regularly look for new podcasts and also download them. Podcatcher is also the software that is used to find and download the podcasts. Over the years podcasting has evolved as a new medium for broadcasting. Nowadays, many businesses and corporations use podcasting as a means to widen their business horizons by finding new and larger markets. The podcasts can surpass the traditional broadcasting and advertising limit and can provide big and small businesses to make their presence felt all over the world.

The number of online video viewers is on the rise today. Taking the survey reports of US alone, we can see that there is a positive increase in online video viewing. In 2003, there were only around 55 million online video viewers; however, in 2007 the number has gone higher to be 140 million. And the figures are only expected to grow with time. Therefore, online video marketing is going to be a key player in the time to come. Web companies that desire to reach masses efficiently would feel only a greater need of turning to online video marketing companies.

Chris Brogan recently had a post on Social Networks and the need to “Tend the Farm” by reaching out and actually reach out and say hi. The meteoric rise and success of Meetups solves this problem. You can have a profile, join for free groups that have common interests and actually meet the people. I run a marketing Meetup, Orange County Advertising and Marketing Associates. We get together once a month and network, talk and usually have a few drinks together. I have developed friends and business contacts from this group. I also have received a lot of business from it. I also organize a equestrian group, Orange County Horse Adventurers, and a search marketing group.

Riona MacNamara, in the official Google Webmaster Central blog writes that Google will be taking into consideration and is very grateful of the feedback webmasters have submitted when asked what changes they expect in Google Webmaster tools.
Some of the common changes written by Webmasters include:
You want Help to be more discoverable
- “It’s not as easy as it should be to find the information you’re looking for. You’d like Google to do a better job of surfacing the answers to the most common questions. The browse structure doesn’t make it easy for users to find help, and sometimes search depends on users knowing exactly the right term to search for.

In 1995, two Stanford students, Jerry Yang and Divia Filo co-founded Yahoo! which has slowly become the second most popular search engine in the world.
Terry Semel now assumes Yahoo! Chairman’s duties. Many reported about public and investor’s displeasure with ex-CEO Terry Semel’s. BBC says the reason for why Terry Semel had to leave was due to Yahoo’s poor performance: "When the first internet bubble burst they made what seemed to be the next clever move - hiring Terry Semel, the co-chief executive of old-media giant Warner. The man understood content, Hollywood, audiences - and was supposed to take Yahoo to the next level. Mr Semel quickly proceeded to turn Yahoo into a media and content company fit for the internet age. On paper (or the computer screen) it seemed to be a great strategy. There was just one hitch: Yahoo’s problem was not the lack of content. Terry Semel tried to turn Yahoo into a media company. Rather, it was the fact that Yahoo failed to focus on its core business: helping web users to find information. While Mr Semel accumulated content, Yahoo’s website got ever more cluttered and difficult to navigate, and the quality of its search engine fell well behind that of archrival Google. This is the main reason for Yahoo’s underperformance: Google’s search results made Yahoo’s endless lists of sorted results somewhat irrelevant”.
Looking optimistic, Yang says, “The time for me is right. The time is now. The Internet is still young, the opportunities ahead are tremendous, and I’m ready to rally our nearly 12,000 Yahoos around the world to help seize them.”
Jerry Yang, 38 years old, was born in Taipei, Taiwan but moved to California in the US when he was 10.
