Google Blog Search Tries To Fix Blogroll Link Issue
Recently, the news came that Google is in the process to fix the issue concerning blogroll links in Google Blog Search. The Google Blog Search will also index and use RSS feed, as well as it will try to exclude blogrolls and navigational elements of the blog!
The issue revolving blogroll links was that if you conducted a link command in blog search, Google Blog Search started to show blog posts that do not have any connection to your posts. This was because of the fact that several blogs out there have this particular blog on their blogroll and according to Google, that post should have a link within their post.
There have been certain changes made by Google Blog Search in this regards, since then. Jeremy Hylton of Google Blogsearch said about what has Google really changed:
“The basic approach is to analyze each blog to look for text and markup that is common to all of the posts. Usually, these comment elements include the blogroll, any navigational elements, and other parts of the page that aren’t part of the post. This approach works well for a lot of blogs, but we’re continuing to improve the algorithm. The search results should ignore matches that only come from these common elements. The indexing change to implement it is deployed almost everywhere now.â€
