Google Search Options Panel- How It Happened!
A few days ago, Google released Google Search Options, a collection of tools that enable users to refine their results and generate different views in order to find what you need faster and easier.

<p>Google originated Search Options panel in an attempt to help users find information more quickly and easily and accommodate the functionality<span id="more-360"></span> offered by these new features within the search results page. Even though, the panel seems quite simple, a lot of integration in respect of design, research and engineering happened behind the scenes in order to produce the best possible experience!<br />
The search giant team began by generating a broad range of directions, that were refined through design sessions and reviews. Once the team was confident about certain concepts, it began to seek for user feedback via <a href="http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/eye-tracking-studies-more-than-meets.html"><u>eye-tracking</u></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usability_testing"><u>usability studies</u></a>. These studies have provided the team with helpful resource to understand how people thought about the options in the panel and interacted with them. Google still continues to monitor people’s interaction with the Search Options!</p>
