MSN Live Search trying to catch up with Google & Yahoo! Search: Releases New Features
If you enter a search query in the MSN Live Search, the chances are that you’ll find what you have been looking for, without having to go to multiple search result pages. However, Microsoft wishes to go beyond the simplified searches, in an effort to provide users with more relevant search results. MSN Live Search has been complimented with some new features. According to the Live Search Team, the MSN Live Search has been given a beauty treatment with a new look and has been embedded with website suggestion feature. The Live Search now looks deeper into the results to find appropriate and relevant shortcuts within the web pages that show up as search results to suggest for a query.
This feature has already been introduced some time ago by Google. Also known as Google SiteLinks, these are links associated within the web pages that turn up as search results on Google’s SERPs.
Microsoft has also simplified user search experience on Live Search Products by allowing them to search a product simply by user opinions, brands, category and price range. Adding to the convenience, users can now compare prices of products, make their decisions on user ratings and also view reviews of products that they are interested in.
For a long time, Microsoft had been lagging behind Google and Yahoo! in terms of popular search engines. However, this new update to the MSN Live Search is being considered as a Microsoft comeback to the search engine competition.
